NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan, April 11, 2019 – GE and Raim Group Caspian company,Kazakhstan,offering solutions to protect equipment against corrosion in the petrochemical and refining industries, concluded a license agreement on the exclusive use by Raimof GE’sAmStarsurface protection technology in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. This will allow a prompt equipment repair anda significant safety improvement at petrochemical and refining industrial facilities.
GE’sAmStar technology ensures a protective coating by high-speed thermal spraying on process equipment exposed to high temperatures and corrosive environments, particularly in the refining and power industries, helping fight against corrosion andtherefore prolonging equipment’s lifecycle. AmStar provides a possibility of a field application which is technology’s specific feature offeringa prompt assistance to customers.
In particular, AmStar use does not require time-consuming surface preparation and spray application process, so the equipment can be returned to service immediately once theprotective coating operation is completed. In addition, the application of AmStarkeeps vessel substrate unaltered, since the process occurs at low temperature, which additionally ensures the equipment’s safety.
