Petrocouncil met with large foreign EPC contractors

During the visit to the UAE, Petrocouncil met with large foreign EPC contractors based in Dubai and working in O&G industry of Kazakhstan with the aim of the future involvement of Kazakhstani companies in O&G market of Kazakhstan as well as the Middle East.

The Chairman of Petrocouncil Assylbek Jakiyev met with the managing director of CCC for the Middle East, George Haddad, where they discussed issues and prospects for promoting Kazakhstani companies in the Middle East, as well as the activities of CCC in Kazakhstan. CCC is one of the largest and most sustainable EPC companies in Kazakhstan that contributes to the development of local content. Petrocouncil successfully interacts with CCC to increase local content and involve Kazakhstani businesses in the company’s projects.

Also, within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held with EPC contractor Elsewedy Electric at the site where there has been constructed the largest gas power plant in the UAE. Elsewedy Electric is the largest electrotechnical company from Egypt, which is interested in entering the Kazakhstan market. There were negotiations to attract the company to Kazakhstan.

In addition, meetings were held with a number of companies operating in O&G of Kazakhstan such as Kentech and Enermech. In particular, with the general director of Kentech John Gilley Petrocouncil discussed the TCO FGP commissioning project and local content development. Petrocouncil has been working with TCO on promoting local content development in this upcoming project.

To recall, Kentech and NovusBolashak were awarded the contract for the commissioning of TCO FGP. Based on the results of the meetings, Petrocouncil agreed with companies on further cooperation in improving Kazakh content on projects in Kazakhstan.
