NCOC AND PETROCOUNCIL CONDUCTED A FORUM ON THE PROVISION OF UNDERWATER INSPECTION SERVICES

Atyrau, 25 July 2025: NCOC and PetroCouncil conducted the first Underwater Inspection Forum in Atyrau. The Forum was participated by NCOC subject matter experts, as well as representatives of Kazakhstan companies – consumers and providers of similar services.

“Over the past three years PetroCouncil has been focusing on organizing industry-specific platforms where clients and work and service providers can have professional and targeted discussions on matters of their concern and receive relevant firsthand information. I believe that today’s Forum will become an excellent platform for NCOC to meet a large number of underwater service providers, which will help significantly expand the supplier base and select the most qualified supplier through fair tender procedures,” Assylbek Jakiyev, Chairman of PetroCouncil, pointed out in his welcoming speech.

As part of the event, NCOC subject matter experts familiarized service providers with the key aspects of registration and pre-qualification, Local Content requirements, the overall process of participating in NCOC tenders, the scope of work for providing underwater inspection services and maintenance of marine equipment. The scope of underwater inspection work includes a wide range of services: from visual inspection of underwater objects by divers, site and pipeline route cleaning, provision of auxiliary construction services during pile driving, and cable laying to inspection of barge and tug hull conditions, cleaning and maintenance of marine vessels, conducting audio and video recording for inspection of the technical condition, magnetic particle inspection, non-destructive testing, and many other specialized services.

It should be noted that the Operator of the North Caspian Project gives significant attention to developing the technical capacity of local companies. At the same time, preference is given to local suppliers, provided they meet the quality and safety requirements and offer competitive materials and services.

The Forum participants provided positive feedback on the event and expressed their gratitude to the facilitators for the opportunity to receive comprehensive information about the tender processes conducted by the Operator of the North Caspian Project.

In its turn, PetroCouncil expressed gratitude to NCOC for the initiative to create a transparent market of specialized service providers and expressed hope for continued constructive cooperation through similar events in other areas of oilfield services.
