Top 30 Women Oil and Gas Leaders Review 2022

On the eve of the day of the oil worker, Petrocouncil presents the annual Top 30 Women Oil and Gas Leaders Review 2022. This year, the Review includes representatives of industrial associations of Kazakhstan, key managers, as well as technical (production) workers who make a huge contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan.

Svetlana Salykova, Engineering manager NCOC

Svetlana has over 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.She graduated from Kyzyl-Orda State University with a degree in hydrotechnical engineering. In NCOC, Svetlana is responsible for all technical aspects of the company, she participated in the development of procedures, technical development, coordinating the work of various technical teams and much more. Svetlana is an important member of the NCOC production team.

Aliya has been working in the oil and gas industry for over 25 years. She has been working for TCO since 1997 and started as an ordinary engineer. One of the key project managers of the FGP Gathering systems project

  • Slushash Izbassarova, HR controller KPO

Slushash has been working in the oil and gas industry for over 20 years. She worked for NCOC for about 13 years. She began her career as a training specialist at Agip KCO/NCOC where she rose to the position of HR manager. Has been working for Shell for more than 5 years and is currently one of the key HR managers in KPO.

  • Elmira Kussainova, HR director PetroKazakhstan

Elmira has been working for PetroKazakhstan for over 20 years, where she has grown from a specialist to a director. Her experience includes Halliburton, Schlumberger in the HR sector. Elmira graduated from Robert Gordon University (UK) with a master’s degree in Human Resources Management.

  • Gulnafis Tastanbekova, Chief specialist, E&P Project Management KMG

Gulnafis graduated from KazNTU in 1986, as well as Russian State University named after Gubkin in 2020. She began her career as a teacher at KazNTU. In 1993 she worked at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 1997 to the present time he has been working in KMG in the department of exploration projects. For her important work, she was awarded industry certificates and medals. She also has scientific works and a intellectual patent for the invention “method of developing an oil deposit” and others.

Ekaterina has been working in the field of E&P for many years. She started as an ordinary engineer for the development of reservoirs, then worked as a lead engineer in the department for increasing oil production, head of the production department. Since 2017, he has been Deputy Chairman for Production.

Aigerim has started her career as a specialist in Contracts department in 2006 and has been holding different positions over this time going through the career growth. Aigerim is managing the team consisting of 35 people responsible for purchasing of various goods and materials and placing contracts for different types of the services while holding tenders, negotiations and working with relevant authorities.

As part of her duties, Aigerim is developing various contracting strategies, implementing various improvement initiatives and projects aiming business processes optimisation as well as contributing to a Local content development. Aigerim has been included into the list of women published in “Kazakhstan woman and oil & gas” book in 2015 and got an award letter from KazEnergy association for excellent contribution to the oil and gas sector of Kazakhstan. Aigerim is a chairman of KPO female network where she is promoting female leadership and growth of young talents. Since 2014 Aigerim holds master degree in supply chain management and logistics.

  • Gulzhannat Uderbayeva, Secretary general Total Dunga

Gulzhannat graduated from Aktobe University named after Zhubanov. She works as the general secretary (corporate director) and she is in top management of Total Dunga company. She oversees the areas of HR, IT and others.

  • Zhainagul Tazhiyeva
    General director/Founder Kazpromstroyengineering

Zhainagul is the founder of the oilfield services company KazPromStroyEngineering, and she runs a successful company from the Zhyloy region, which has about 500 employees. The company successfully performs services for oil and gas companies, namely construction and installation works, a full cycle of EPC works, repair services and transport. Completed more than 100 projects and has more than 80 of equipment and transport.

  • Gulsat Kamesheva, Head of legal, government, JV relations Total Dunga

Gulsat Kamesheva currently works for Total E&P Dunga, Aktau and chairs the legal, government relations and joint venture management department. She has more than 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and started as a legal adviser. Gulsat worked in KMG, Lukoil, Shell, Maersk, Total. She is a member of the Women in Law Committee of the Kazakhstan Lawyers Association (KazBar), she has a lawyer’s license. She is fond of sports, a participant of the Almaty running marathon and in her free time she is engaged in furniture redesign. She is raising her 11 year old son. She is member of top management of Total Dunga.

  • Botagoz Zhalimbetova, HSE Deputy General Manager TCO

Botagoz has 21 years of experience in HSE in the oil and gas sector, including 11 years with Tengizchevroil and 10 years with Chevron Munai Gas. Chemist and environmental engineer by education. After graduating from the university, she worked as a junior researcher at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

She started her career in the oil and gas sector as an environmentalist at the Tengiz field. Has 18 years of managerial experience.

Botagoz has led TCO’s Environmental, Operations Support, Occupational Safety, Health and Environment, and Compliance departments. She also worked as TCO’s Compliance Process Implementation Project Manager and worked as HSE Manager for Chevron’s Eurasia Business Unit for 10 years. Since 2021 she has been providing HSE support to major TCO capital projects.

Married, has a son and a daughter. Outside of work, she spends time with her children, painting and playing chess.

Zaure has gone through all stages of development since the launch of the project. She made a significant contribution while working in the service industry. Zaure is a leading specialist in the field of asset management of the FM department. Also, Zaure took an active part in the COVID-19 projects “90-days plan for front line and offices” and TAR-2022. She showed herself as a responsible and hardworking employee, a professional in her field of activity, sharing many years of experience working with young personnel, as well as attentive and scrupulous in working with contractors.

Altyngul started working as an oil production operator in 1989 at OzenMunayGas, she was also a control panel operator, engineer, lead shop geologist, head of the geology and development service of NGDU-2, head of the geology and development department. Since 2014, he has been the chief geologist of the NGDU.

Aniya graduated from the Gubkin Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas in 1991 and has been working for Zhyloymunaigas for about 25 years. She is an important worker of ZhyloiMunaiGas (branch of Embamunaygas).

Gulshat has been working as the head of the geology department at MMG since 2010. She began her career at KazNIPIMunaigas, where she began in 1996 as an engineer and rose to the position of department director.

She also worked as a Lead Engineer of the Development Department of KazMunayGas E&P. For 28 years, she worked at ARMAKs JSC, the Western Branch of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazNIGRI, Kaspiymunaigas Research and Development Institute, Kaspiymunaigas Research Institute, and today she is implementing the most important projects for the national company and international partners of the Atyrau branch KMG Engineering LLP.

Her career includes direct participation in the design of exploration of new areas, additional exploration of already discovered deposits and geological assessment of structures. The research projects carried out with her participation, calculations/recalculations, reserves growth led to an increase in the resource base of previously discovered fields and an increase in the oil potential of our country.

Zhansaya professional knowledge and achievements are duly appreciated at the state level and in the professional geological community. She was also a Lead Analyst in the Project Analysis Department, coordinator and member of the technical groups of international technical partnership projects under the Memorandum of Understanding with BG and ExxonMobil in E&P KMG. She has also worked in the oilfield services sector in Schlumberger as a petrophysicist and at BakerHughes in Aksai. She started from a junior data processor to a senior geotechnician at the Center for Geological and Geophysical Research
“NIPI Neftegaz” in Aktau, a geologist at the Kazakhstan Research Institute.

Gulmira holds a PhD in geology. She worked as a geologist in Knowledge Reservoir in Houston, USA, Nelson Resources, Kazakhoil Aktobe, also worked in Halliburton Consulting Service, as a geologist and business development consultant

Her path began as a geologist in 1985 when she entered the oil department of the Saratov Petroleum Exploration College. Also, she graduated from the geological faculty of the Saratov University named after Chernyshevsky.

For 28 years, she worked at ARMAKs JSC, the Western Branch of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazNIGRI, Kaspiymunaigas Research and Development Institute, Kaspiymunaigas Research Institute, and today she is implementing the most important projects for the national company and international partners of the Atyrau branch KMG Engineering LLP.

Her career includes direct participation in the design of exploration of new areas, additional exploration of already discovered deposits and geological assessment of structures. The research projects carried out with her participation, calculations/recalculations, reserves growth led to an increase in the resource base of previously discovered fields and an increase in the oil potential of our country.

Zhansaya professional knowledge and achievements are duly appreciated at the state level and in the professional geological community. She was awarded with the badge “Honorary explorer of the subsoil of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, a medal for the 120th anniversary of Kazakhstan oil, certificates of honor and letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Energy, NCOC, the Kazakhstan Society of Petroleum Geologists, KAZENERGY and KMG Engineering.

Zhansaya contributed to the implementation of many new techniques in the algorithm for analyzing field and geological and geophysical data of problem fields.

  • Aliya Yebrasheva, Project Manager Professional Geo Solutions Kazakhstan LLP

Aliya has 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Over the years, she worked at KMG Kashagan as a director of the department of geology. She was also a Lead Analyst in the Project Analysis Department, coordinator and member of the technical groups of international technical partnership projects under the Memorandum of Understanding with BG and ExxonMobil in E&P KMG. She has also worked in the oilfield services sector in Schlumberger as a petrophysicist and at BakerHughes in Aksai. She started from a junior data processor to a senior geotechnician at the Center for Geological and Geophysical Research
“NIPI Neftegaz” in Aktau, a geologist at the Kazakhstan Research Institute.

  • Fatima Tulegenova, Chief accountant Turgai-Petroleum

Fatima has been working for Turgai-Petroleum since 1996 and started as a specialist. Over the years, she has grown to the position of chief accountant. She is an important employee of the company.

Gulmira Kulumbetova, Lead Geologist Meridian Petroleum

Gulmira holds a PhD in geology. She worked as a geologist in Knowledge Reservoir in Houston, USA, Nelson Resources, Kazakhoil Aktobe, also worked in Halliburton Consulting Service, as a geologist and business development consultant

  • Dinara Sybanbayeva, Director of HSE Department KPI LLP

Dinara has been working since 1997. She has been working in the KMG since 2004. In KPI she has been working since 2018 as Chief Technical Officer – Director of HSE Department.

  • Gulmira Kozhakova, Executive director Buzachi Oil

Gulmira works at Buzachi Oil as an executive director for geology. Started with an ordinary specialist and she is an important employee of the company dealing with the technical aspects of the company.

  • Molder Shokanova, Head of the testing center Atyrau Refinery

Moldir graduated from KBTU with a degree in chemical technology of organic substances. She started working at the Atyrau Refinery as a laboratory assistant for chemical analysis in 2014 and worked as a laboratory assistant for various materials. Since 2019 she was appointed head of the oil and oil products laboratory. Since 2021 she is head of Atyrau refinery testing center.

  • Aigul Bashtibayeva, Account manager, Schlumberger

Aigul graduated from Aktobe Regional University with a degree in applied mathematics, in 2018 from KAZGUU University with a degree in jurisprudence, in 2020 from the Caspian University of Technology and Engineering. In 2003, she began her career at Schlumberger in the well testing and completion department as an ordinary field employee. Subsequently, she held various positions in the well testing and OFS department, sales engineer, sales manager, head of the tender department and business systems. Since 2022, she has been appointed to the position of account manager for exploration projects and KMG.

  • Julia Wunder, Chief geologist, Anega-Kazakhstan LLP

Julia started working in 2007 at KazRosGeophysics LLP as interpreter-engineer of the II category and until 2014 has grown to the head of the control and interpretation of KazRosGeophysics LLP. From 2014 to the present, she has been working at Anega-Kazakhstan LLP as the chief geologist.
